Last night was our last class of Course 1 for Wilton Cake Decorating. I can really attest to the fact that decorating cakes is all about practice, practice, practice. I set my timer for an hour and practice all the various techniques/designs/writing. Last night we learned how to do the final steps in the Wilton Rose. Ok, let's just say I need lots of practice on the roses. Rachel and I signed up for Course 2 which begins next week. Stacy said she has to work two of the four classes and won't be joining us for Course 2. Here are pictures of our final cakes.

My cake. Looking back now I should have written "my cake stinks" because "my cake sucks" are not really a good choice of words.
Side view of cake looks like it is lopsided. However, the paper doily was simply sticking to the icing.
